"God Encounter" Stories

Updated: Dec 28, 2022

We are now accepting submissions for Issue Two, and if you know of someone who has a personal testimony of their "God encounter" don't be afraid to nudge them in The Hephzibah's direction! It will encourage others so much!

One of the visions I have for The Hephzibah is for it to be a place of rest for the every day sinner and saint, for those two identities are so intertwined as we walk our own personal roads of life. May this be a place where you can come and tell tales of our wonder-working God!

Recently I have been realizing that with the people I interact with I almost prefer skipping the small talk and going straight to the "nitty-gritty". Life is not as long as we make it out to be. On one hand, I am aware that I am dust and will soon return to the dust. Yet on the other hand, I have lived much of my life with a mentality of non-frugality towards my mortality. In other words, I often squander the precious moments I have been given on futile wordly things. But no longer! My desire is to, as often as I can, remember that I am to be like Paul, who has set his eyes on the prize and is striving with all his might towards the finish line (Philippian 3:13-4)!

So what is the "nitty-gritty" I referred to up above? It is our encounters with God! There is nothing more humbling to witness than a beautiful and holy God reaching down from Heaven and interacting with His creatures (made from the dust). The transformation that takes place in one's life, when the God who breathed them into existence gets involved, will take their breath away!

So this is an invitation to you, to step into this haven of rest and share your encounters with God. Not only will it encourage others, but it will cause us to stand together as the Body of Chirst to proclaim our Risen Savior!
